Adult Squad

Swimmers

Our Adult Squad is designed for confident swimmers who are looking to improve their technique, endurance and speed while training in a social group environment. Swimmers can choose to attend once, twice or three times weekly and it is a great base for improving overall swimming fitness and training for ocean races and triathlons.

To enter the Adults Squad swimmers must be confident in swimming up to 3km in a 1.15hour session and be familiar with squad style training, they should have a rough understanding of an interval (or send off time) they are comfortable with for multiple 100ms of freestyle. If you are interested in our Adult Squads please fill in the form below and we can provide current availability and set up a free trial lesson.

Training

Depending on the swimmer’s ability training will typically be between 2.5km-3.5km in a 1.15hour session. Training will include a combination of skill and drill based technique work, aerobic conditioning, speed training, and a variety of kick and pull sets. Swimmer’s will need to bring to training with them a set of fins, pull buoy and paddles and as there are a variety of different speeds in the squad our coaches provide different intervals and distances accordingly.

Training takes place on weekday mornings from 6-7.15am at the Aquadome and there is parking available next to the pool. Terms run consecutively and there is no training on Public Holidays
