Aquatic Squad
Swimmers
Our Aquatic Squad is for college aged swimmers who are looking for a training environment that will improve their swimming stamina, speed and increase their endurance and capacity to compete in other water based sports.
To train with the Aquatic Squad swimmers need to have a strong base of swimming skills, stamina and ability and be ready to train in a larger squad environment. This squad is suited to swimmers who are training for other water based sports such as surf life saving, water polo, triathlons or ocean races and are confident swimming up to 3km in a 1 hour training session.
To enter this squad swimmers are invited to come a long to a free trial lesson before enrolling, please fill in the form below if you are interested in joining the Aquatic Squad or if you have any questions.
Training
In the Aquatic Squad swimmers will be working on improving their aerobic and anaerobic capacity with sets designed to push them in speed and stamina whilst maintaining technique. Swimmers will usually complete between 2-3km in a session and training will include all four strokes, variety of drills and skills and personal technique correction. Our Coaches are Olympian Natasha Hind and NZ International representative Georgia Hind who bring their years of experience in both coaching and competing to work with the swimmers to reach their full potential.
Training for the Aquatic Squad is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4.30pm and Saturday morning at 8.30am and all sessions are 1 hour long. Training runs with the primary school terms and swimmers have the option to train once, twice or three times weekly.
